Over the weekend of the 18th & 19th August Emma, Marilys and Will attended the Biggin Hill Air Show to raise awareness of the NMWDM. On this occasion we were joined by Patron Jacqueline Hurley the creator of ‘The War Poppy Collection; and her husband Steve.
With the combined stall of the NMWDM model and Jacqueline’s artwork, there was a great draw for the crowd. A windy, but clear day saw a crowd of over 40,000 attending over the two days with many of them visiting our stall.
A great amount of interest was shown in the memorial and a total of £222.00 was put into the collection box. Jacqueline sold many prints which made the weekend an all-round success. She has very kindly donated her original painting of ‘Devotion to Duty’ to the memorial. This has been displayed at both the Royal Albert Hall Festival of Remembrance and the National Memorial Arboretum. It is open to bids over £4000, so if you would like this stunning piece on your wall, please get in contact.
